- Allahabad Bank was merged with Indian Bank.

- Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India were merged with Punjab National Bank (PNB), making PNB one of the largest PSBs in the country.
- Syndicate Bank was merged with Canara Bank, enhancing its operational reach.
- Earlier, Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank were merged with Bank of Baroda (effective from April 1, 2019), further consolidating the sector.
These mergers aimed to create globally competitive banks, enhance capital adequacy, improve credit availability, strengthen risk management, and support India’s long-term economic growth.

1. Calcutta High Court: The Calcutta High Court, established in 1862, is seated at Kolkata and has jurisdiction over West Bengal and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It operates without an official bench today. The current Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court is T. S. Sivagnanam.
2. Bombay High Court: The Bombay High Court was established in 1862 with its principal seat in Mumbai. It has benches in Nagpur, Panaji, and Aurangabad.
